My wife and I came to Orlando to get out of the cold and play golf. We LOVE playing nice courses, regardless of price. Cypress Grand is NOT a nice course. The driving range is similar to a municipal golf range, with no grass to hit off of and sandy. 1st hole green side bunkers had footprints throughout and the rake was on the green. Second hole we caught up to a Five-some. Yes. 5 dudes in 3 carts. I told the starter which amounted to nothing. The conditions were terrible. We played a similar priced course the day prior (Grand Lakes) and the conditions were 1000% better. We left after 2 holes.

I played the Cypress Course not the Links.

I came to the course not knowing what to expect. However, the two days before, I played Bay Hill. My expectations were not as high as Bay Hill, so I was pleasantly surprised by what i got. It was not overseeded, which means it did not look great. But looks are deceiving for this course. The grass was half green and half yellow.

Tee boxes were in great shape. Fairways were large and smooth. The greens were running fast. Somewhere about an 11. The rolled true and not bumpy.

Now the design of the course is deceptive. The fairways are very large. There are bunkers strategically placed, but an accurate drive will take them out of play. The green complexes were very difficult. I wish I could have played it again because there are definitely places to miss it and not miss it. I landed multiple approach shots on the greens just to find them roll off. So be careful and enjoy.

This is a course I would come back and play again.

It has 2 courses and we played the Link course this time. It’s a great place to play golf with lofty green fees. The Link course emulates the old St. Andrew’s course with very wide fairways. The greens are tricky with plenty of contours, and the speed is fast.

Now THIS is a golf course – beautiful, open, and fun. Premium experience from the great folks in the pro shop to the range attendant to the starter. It is a Nicklaus course which the starter explained to us meant lots of water and lots of pin placements on green crowns – boy, was he right. Traps and water are strategically located so there is no easy path – you have to hit around or big-hit over almost every hole – no gimmies here! I loved that. You really have to think and either lay up or strategize around hazards; you can’t just go out and hit whatever and expect a decent score. Even on this weekday the cart barn guys were on top of everything and there were two cart girls with tons of food, beverages, and ice. I recommend the chicken ranch wrap – big, meaty, and tasty! Loved the people, the course, the play – well worth the price. If I get back in the area, this will be at the top of my list to play again.

Super nice course but very challenging! Nicely manicured , I have played some of the best golf courses but this one ranks at the top.
