Absolutely beautiful beach!! My dog loved it! The waters perfect amount of shallow unless you go very far out. Beach is big so plenty of space and a few picnic tables and concrete seats!! They even have a water hose to wash your baby off before you leave the park. It is fenced in so you can let your fur baby leash free! 4 paws up for sure!!
It’s clear Mayor Castor has ignored the county park. Set in a run down industrial area, this park has great potential if not for the lack of effort to keep it up. The pictures speak for themselves. This is a dog beach in ruin.
It’s free! The water is shallow enough to wade pretty far out. The water is clear. There are picnic tables and benches to sit at while your dog runs off leash. It’s completely fenced in so you can relax more without worry as the dogs play. But I won’t be back because it was very, very rocky and thus difficult to walk along the shore and in the water. You need to wear shoes. I had on flip flops, but one came off in the water and stepping to get it was difficult bc it is so rocky that I literally couldn’t walk. The rocks are sharp. I cut the bottom of my foot on a rock. The gash is about two inches long and painful, fairly deep and bled. The rocky surface just wasn’t enjoyable, I don’t know how the dogs do it. But there are much nicer dog beaches with soft sand and no rocks.
Love it here, just be sure to wear water shoes as there are lots of rocks out. My dog never seems to be affected though. I can’t take her here often because she gets diarrhea from accidental ingestion of salt water, but when she comes she never wants to leave. There’s a hose at the entrance to rinse the sand from your dog & your feet. People do a pretty good job cleaning up after their pets & there’s a doc where you can see people fish adjacent, but separate from the dog beach. I wish they had a fresh water place to take dogs to, but this place is a nice find & the dogs can run around without a leash & you don’t have to wonder about them wondering off as it’s gated.
Lovely place for the paws to play! Partial fence is down near the front but overall it’s all fenced in and well kept!
