I’ve been going to Dr. Suarez for the past couple of years and she is amazing. She is tentative, knowledgeable, and always listen and answers all of my questions, which is usually a lot. I never feel rushed. Wait time is good and appointment availability is always great. Danielle at the front desk is awesome too she is so sweet! Highly recommend!

I had a decent experience with the doctor herself and even one or two other staff members, including the ultrasound technician and one of the doctor’s assistants. However, my repeated interactions with the front desk receptionist have been nothing short of awful.

I’ve encountered her unprofessional behavior on three separate occasions and initially gave her the benefit of the doubt, assuming she might be having a bad day. Unfortunately, it has become clear that this is simply her demeanor. My final interaction with her was so frustrating that I felt compelled to leave this review.

The receptionist called me at 9 a.m. regarding an administrative matter—a referral requested by the doctor(OB). She explained that the fax number for the referral was busy and claimed she was getting the runaround from the office. I told her I had already contacted the referral OB’s office, and they informed me that all referrals need to be professionally submitted by the doctor’s office. When I relayed this information to the receptionist, she responded that she doesn’t send referrals because my insurance doesn’t require them. I explained that the referral OB had stated that they do require the referral, but she continued to talk over me and dismiss my concerns.

Throughout the conversation, she cut me off whenever I tried to clarify or ask for help. When I asked to speak with the doctor, she ignored the request and abruptly hung up on me. This interaction was not only unprofessional but also upsetting, especially as I was sitting in front of my six-year-old son, stunned at how I was being treated.

Her behavior does nothing to foster peace of mind or a sense of safety for patients visiting a doctor’s office.

For me, this has completely ruined my relationship with this practice. While the doctor and some staff members were great, the receptionist’s ongoing behavior makes it impossible for me to return. I typically only leave reviews when I am happy about an experience and want to support local businesses. However, this situation was so inappropriate that I felt the need to address it publicly. If the front desk staff cannot treat patients with basic respect and professionalism, it reflects poorly on the entire practice.

The doctor is fantastic! Really is !
Sadly I had a series of unfortunate events after Debbie ran through Gibsonton and i was not able to make my appoint the day after my home was flooded and car damaged. I called the following day to clarify what was going on and why I missed the appointment and it wasn’t intentional and I was told I had to wait for the office manager to return and she will call me back about refunding a charge for missing the appointment. I waited 2 weeks and no call. I finally called because a needed to reschedule my appointment asap and I explained the situation and was told I needed to give a 24 hour notice. I explained I didn’t know this was going to happen and couldn’t control it. She said “well we were open and we didn’t have weather here so..” very rude and not sympathetic at all! She seemed not to care at all! Great job costed you $50 to lose a patient and gain this crappy review. Doctor Suarez you’re fantastic but the staff behavior is unacceptable.

Update: Dr Suarez followed up with me in a timely fashion and gave her condolences and really help rectify the situation. I will be returning. I never doubted the doctor at all she’s amazing. She has definitely gained my loyalty and respect.
