I absolutely love our pool. We were able to work with Larry to design our pool exactly how we needed for our special needs son. They were the only ones who would work with us to customize it how we needed it to be. Everything was done correctly. Our project manager Steve was amazing. He is very communicative and responsive. He makes sure every step is done thoroughly. He is kind and understanding to what good quality means. Even after the project was done he made sure that we were taken care of and even came out to help us a time or two. I couldn’t recommend Cody Pools enough. It’s hard to find quality and decent contractors and businesses here in Florida but they are top notch! I highly recommend them. Communicate with them what your needs are and they will take care of the rest.
I had no intention of writing a review nor writing anything negative about a business employing people trying to make money. The chain of events over the past 3 years prompted me to write!
Let’s always begin with the positive. We absolutely love our pool! When we purchased in 2021, the company was named Challenger and then they became Cody. We felt no pressure during the sales process and John did a great job of designing a beautiful pool.
September, 2023, Cody comes out unannounced and is creeping around my property. When we contact Cody to inquire, they tell us they are unaware of anyone coming out to our home. Several days later, the county comes out and when asked what the problem is and why the inspector is at my home, he explains the pool never passed its final inspection. The inspector explains the pool builder should have told us.
December 2023 and January 2024, Cody comes out and makes repairs THEY warrant appropriate.
January 2024, the county returns and the pool passes its final inspection.
May 2024, my pool service provider explains the pump and heater amp is too low and an electrician needs to take a look at it. My electrician comes out and explains the junction box is improperly placed and not to code. It is full of water. He completed the repairs and we’re good to go. Of course at our expense. Why didn’t I call Cody is probably your question. If you read my detailed Yelp review, you will totally understand. But, bottom line was, I’d get the usual out of warranty response.
August 2024, I do call Cody to explain one of the two lights they replaced in January 2024, is out again. Response is – the pool that didn’t pass its final inspection until 2024 is no longer under warranty. The nice rep did share that I could easily get the part from Amazon – about $500 and Cody can refer me to their great electrical company. So, I’m thinking the same company that botched the electrical junction box – no thank you.
So, I close with this. Again, our family is very happy with the pool, but the process once construction began to present has been less than stellar. I have never felt like a valued customer – and oh btw – I did never share this, but I did hear the woman in the background when I called about a construction problem say – “Oh, what does that #%^* want again! You know who you are if you still work there. Know this. Cody is NOT the only pool builder in town and I would NOT recommend them.

The pool was built in 10 weeks. However, there were some minor repairs that took long for them to come an fix, but overall great experience with Cody pools.
We worked with Steve (sales) and Todd (project manager).
That’s our first pool and we do not have anything to compare with, but it’s beautiful and everything is working perfectly.

They also left some mess after (we will need to repaint some spots on outside walls, also we cleaned windows maybe 4 times)
They also cut our internet cable 2 times (but it wasn’t in the ground deep enough, so it’s Frontier’s fault as well)
Maybe a liittle lack of communication
Not everything was perfect, but I used to work in construction field and we also had a horrible experience with our home builder, so I would say Cody Pools is way better than lots of other companies.
We have had a wonderful experience with Cody Pools. We worked with the salesman Shawn Gordon who made the entire experience so easy for us. Not only was he professional, but he also was able to interpret exactly what we wanted and make it come true. He had wonderful suggestions and always made sure we were comfortable and understood everything along the way. There are very few salesman out there like Shawn but he has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I am so excited to start our pool and am very happy we chose Cody Pools.
Our sales guy Shawn Gordon has been absolutely Excellent! He is a Professional, honest, no-pressure, give you all the info you need, take all the time you need kinda guy. He raves highly on Cody Pools as a company and has established my husband and I’s trust from the first time we met him (not a common experience for us). He cares that you’re comfortable and happy from the very beginning. If the rest of the experience matches up to how it’s gone so far, I’ll be over the moon with excitement. So grateful to feel like we’ve found a trustworthy and honest business that meets/exceeds our expectations! Thank You Shawn Gordon!!
