I called today for a quote on the fees regarding my case on old taxes that were unfiled plus possible IRS negotiations on penalty abatement, spoke to Mallory and was transferred to Heather (no warm transfer or acknowledgment that a peer or colleague will be consulted after I disclosed to them what I can afford for my case). Heather picks up and immediately tells me (VERY AGGRESSIVELY) that 1) they will be unable to assist me with the budget I disclosed and that 2) I CAN NOT AFFORD THEM IF THEY CHARGED AN HOURLY RATE. I am going through a divorce right now and hired the best (and quite frankly very expensive lawyer) and I was never treated like this on an introductory call. She then proceeded to berate me further on how much I earn and my living expenses after I told her that I’d like to talk to the attorney to do a fee assessment. SHE IS VERY AGGRESSIVE, TASTELESS AND A DISGRACE TO THIS FIRM. I felt extremely violated in this call that I decided to sunset it immediately.
In conclusion, folks, if you want to be undermined, harassed with no empathy, please call this firm! They are more than happy to deliver on that experience.
It was the most unnerving, again tasteless and belittling conversation I’ve had regarding my case and if this firm continues to retain and hire people like Heather, its a representation of what this firm stands for. To belittle clients who unwillingly says yes to exuberant fees and to belittle them because of that.
