This nature reserve was great! They had a section closed off because of hurricane damage as we saw quite a few trees lifted from their roots. One tree fell on top of the building I’m guessing office or something like that (not from the area) thankfully it didn’t go through the roof. We saw alligators (baby), fishes, turtles, birds, and lizards. Great spot to spend the day!
Sawgrass Lake Park is a stunning nature preserve showcasing a rich assortment of wildlife, including alligators, fish, snakes, and many others, nestled within lush tropical surroundings, dense forests, and breathtaking water scenery.
Although parts of this Park were closed off due to 2 recent hurricanes, and many downed trees, Nature was moving forward and sharing so much of its beauty! There is a nice boardwalk here as well as an off-the-beaten path. There is a nice 2 level tower where you can see across the lake. Clean and well kept.
We love Sawgrass. Now that the observation tower is back open the path leading there never disappoints with alligators, large and small. This big one was hanging out under the deck & lots of small ones along the way. somebody said it’s unusual for them to be giving birth this time of year, but I’m new to this so…
